Hi

A tale

Bought my Son a super games machine Feb 06.

With hindsight they 'Panrix' UK had oversold the system.
ie They assumed that when they had sent it for review, (Dec) it, ( ie
the component cost) would be much cheaper come Feb review.
They went bust because they could not supply the system at the declared
price. I was 1 of the lucky guys that got it.

'Alan' + 'Brat 1 & 2' enjoyed it big time.

I'm a very happy punter.

I had the foresight to run 'Acronis' on it so that I could recover
problems. After all they 'Alan + Brat1 & 2' could(would) cock this up
big time.

Panrix has gone bust so no help from them.

********
It was cocked up big time.

Could not even get the 'XP' recovery to work.

Lets run 'Acronis' & restore the image back to a healthy state.

Opps its a SATA drive, we do not recover from that!!!!!.
The b------ds backed up to it!!!!!!!!!
So why did they not tell me it would not work for a Sata drive????

Pissed OFF. BIG TIME.

OK I was using Ver8 but it is *NOT* that old.

***
Acttualy Ver8 would have recovered, however it displayed an error 'Can't
find disk' which I thought meant the HD was down, so I went for a full
restore.
Hey at the end of the day I have now got the sound system performing as
it should!

The moral, of course, is a backup is worthless unless you can restore.

So take your backup, change 1 thing, then restore.

Did it work????

God knows how often I have told my clients this!!!!!!!!!
