I would say that Python is more web centric than VFP in that it is easy 
to find a hosting company that offers Python as a supported language, in 
cheap hosting even.  A huge plus, IMO!!!

VFP doesn't have a web friendly threading model that lends itself to 
shared hosting.  Of course, perhaps part of that problem is with the 
platform that we're restricted to run under.

The cool thing about Python is that it can cover ALL of the technologies 
with ease:  Web, console, now fat client applications (Dabo), phones, 
appliances, etc.

If I could snap my fingers and be an expert at a new language, it would 
probably be Python and all of it's surrounding and supporting libraries.
