        They're the same thing. Christians historically co-opted pagan  
holidays instead of trying to replace them with specific Christian  
practices. So rather than try to outlaw the fertility festivals that  
were ubiquitous around the world, they incorporated a 'clean' version  
of new life: the Resurrection. So instead of celebrating the rebirth  
of nature, they celebrated the resurrection of Christ. The ancient  
symbols of fertility were left alone, just as the ancient pagan  
symbols for the winter solstice are what we think of as 'Christmas'  
traditions.
