My dell notebook was really running sluggishly and the video when watching a movie was herky-jerky.
I downloaded their "dell notebook system software" patch from "system and configuration utilities" link on their "Drivers and downloads" page, ran it, and it cleared up all the sluggishness. It doesn't tell you exactly what is being updated, but whatever it did, it worked.
