The only problem with long prison sentences is - you and I pay for their miserable existence. There's also the problem of them getting released back into society, and the possibility of escape. The answer to the problem is a psychological one. It's behavior modification 101. However, we don't apply classical conditioning in the appropriate manner. We do modify the gangster's behavior, but not in the right way. The way our justice system works, it reinforces the notion that there are few to no penalties for deviant behavior. Couple that with a growing trend of normalizing the abnormal behavior and you see cause and effect for the downward spiraling of humanity.
I still say, make me King and I will fix this. "It's Good to be King." Well, that is an alternative - but, jerkwad such as I am, I think we should give them a chance with a really hard prison sentence rather than death on the street. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Chet Gardiner > Sent: Wednesday, January 03, 2007 1:57 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [OT] Really neat computer application to read license plates > > In California, the jails already are filled up like those Gi quarters > you mentioned, you jerkwad... -- Regards, Pete http://www.pete-theisen.com/ [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
