Roman, Even if you do get this to work if nothing else, you COULD have a licensing issue here as XP ties itself to the machine motherboard and will request to be re-registered as and when it boots up onto the new motherboard so I hope you didn't register it on the install with the faster board!! If you did then you will run out of install attempts with M$.
What you are doing, I tried with Win2K when it came out and to be honest it was more trouble than it was worth and I ended up doing complete installs using the live motherboard. However, have you tried to remove any potential video card problems by setting up the original install as a straight vanilla VGA as I found this was the major cause of failure with Win2K when swapping boards. Everything went fine but when I installed the HD in the old pc, XP wouldn't start. My questions are: is it feasible what I tried to do? Could it be that the OS is not working because the BIOS is not recognizing properly the HD? What else could be causing this problem? It seems like the Auto-detect function of the BIOS is working fine but I am not really sure... TIA __________________________________________________ Correo Yahoo!
