I haven't read the book, and only became award of it today by visiting 
the "300" website.  I will probably wait and get the movie version of 
the story (eg due out around March 9, 2007), then find out if the movie 
pretty well follows the book, or if I need to read the book to get its 
version of event.  Some movies are almost line for line like the book, 
and other times one needs to read the book to see what was 
missing/different from the book.
