Uh... I'm more inclined to agree with Kristyne. I have a friend who is
married to a doctor. He manages the practice. What he has observed and
experienced pretty much are in total agreement with Kristyne's experiences
and observations. Basically, most medical 'science' is 'guessing'. Don't
get me wrong, they have a lot of information, data, research, etc, to help
them guess, but in the end it's pretty much guessing. Surgury is, of
course, a bit more 'scientific', but most things beyond that are 'lets try
this and see what happens.'

Generally, there is a pendulum type thing that happens in medicine: first -
"druggers" are favored, then some new 'discovery' comes along and then
"talkers" are favored. Then the reverse happens. If you look over the
history of medicine you'll see what I mean.

Overall I believe the medical industry (not counting drug companies) has
improved. But it's almost a wonder how we ever got past witch doctors.
