Customers still do stick with you if you do good work and provide good service for them.
Tomorrow, I'm going to a client that I first did work for in July, 1982. His business keeps growing and he keeps calling me back. First I developed an app with GW-BASIC, then FoxBase, then Visual FoxPro 3, 5 and now 9. At one point, he even lent me money during one of my drought periods. Today I'm going to a client that I've had since October, 1999. We started off in the wrong direction early on, but turned it around. Since then, we've always tried to develop the best system for their needs and nothing more. Sometimes I've suggested things that resulted in less money for us. Maybe that's part of why they stick with us. Next week I'm off to see a client that I've had since May 1990. Their sales were $5 million. By Feb, 2006, their sales were over $200 million. They were bought by a publicly traded company last year for $485 million. While there is more bureaucracy with the now public company, they still stick with me. There are other long time clients that continue to stick with us But then that maybe only a result of the Canadian business climate. Only in Canada you say? Pity! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Pete Theisen Sent: Thursday, January 18, 2007 2:24 AM To: ProFox Email List Subject: Re: [OT] Cracking down on CEO salaries On Wednesday 17 January 2007 2:46 pm, Michael Madigan wrote: Hi Michael!
