Thank you, Dave. I have no problem with you or anyone else being pedantic. Actually, I welcome it, although I probably have no standing within the hierarchy here to actually "welcome" anything. Your analysis is spot on. Careful and bemusement are not synonymous in any way, shape, or form beyond conforming to the precepts of lexical specifications. Perhaps I created an oxymoron (like the guy who sells that stuff on TV ... Billy Bates?). Nevertheless, I have found that by casually dropping such contradictory terms on a rigorously random basis, I can gauge the effectiveness of posting in a monospace font as opposed to not posting at all. Oh, and as for Ms. Beacon, I am afraid I cannot redo the course because I have never taken it. I learned to type between 1952 and 1955, when Ms. Beacon was barely a photon.
