I missed that one, but with MS it seems that's always a gotcha or ten. Hopefully Brian's list covered the basics and it will be a relatively smooth install. > > That's what I would have done, but my customer just loves the latest > > and greatest! > > > So many of them do, Bill! Wait...if that's how he feels, he won't want > a VFP solution (if he's your typical PHB FUD kind of guy) ;-) But VFP really does rock! It handles every single requirement he's come up with, and he's very pleased with how it all works together. To be sure, by the time I started with him I had an existing framework to build upon. Because the time-consuming learning curve/infrastructure/utilities stuff was done, I've been able to turn around his lists of new requirements usually by the next day - delivered and tested on his machine (also thanks to the VNC remote control/file transfer connection). In fact, he's so happy with the results that one reason for buying the new portable is to give demos at his industry's conferences. That's just fine with me! It did take a long time and lot of work to get to this point, but I figure VFP will be around long enough to (finally) get some "RO" for all that "I". As for the PHB/FUD folks - they don't know what they're talking about, and I don't have any time to waste arguing with them. Bill > Michael J.
