I'm going to wait until most computers and notebooks being sold are 64 bit and come with a version of Vista already installed. At that point I will take the 64 bit computer designed specifically for Vista, and I will install the 64 bit version of Fedora Core or some other 64 bit version of Linux on the new computer. Then I will take the version of Vista that came with the computer, and install it in a 64 bit Virtual Machine, probably running under VMware. This will be quite a hit involving the purchase of a new computer, 64 bit Vista, and new 64 bit Virtual Machine software. About the time I get everything upgraded, it will, no doubt be time to start over again with the next big thing.
How soon before 64 bit computers, OS(s), VM, and applications become the norm. I'm guessing this will happen within the next year or two, or three at the most.
