I like the File Monitor thingie a lot.
When you are testing a VFP application and using this tool,
you can notice all of the vfp internal 'file searches' that it does to
find things that were compiled in the project.
If you did not set up your search paths properly, or had an 'out of
project root folder' 'thing' included , you will see a lot of additional
overhead with the running of the VFP app.
I ran across this behavior in 2000 using File Monitor, and started hacking
things in the forms, classes and reports. Cut back disk i/o on a
network-file-stored app by 300 to 400 percent (depending on concurrent
user count).
I LIKE/Love the File Monitor app.
