Well, the Dragon Speaking Naturally, v-9 app arrived this afternoon. I have a lot of client work to get done still, but this evening I am planning to image my hard drive <g>, then install the app. Included in the box was a "Nuance approved" microphone/earphone headset I am supposed to use. If the quality of that device is any indication of what else I can expect of the package I am in some real trouble. There is only one person in the ProFox group that I am aware of that knows what I look like. I do believe he (Ed) would (I hope) attest to my claim that my head is not excessively large in absolute or relative terms with respect to my body size. Yet, when I moved the adjustment slide to allow for maximum head size (minimal pressure at both sides of my head), then tried to place the headset onto my head, the plastic band snapped off clean! Hmmm... I sure hope my Logitech Super-Duper USB High Performance Ultra High Quality Stereo Headset/Boom Microphone unit will work with the software.
Once I get familiar enough with the software, assuming I can get it to work at all <g>, I will send an eMail using Dragon to my Fellow Fox Head colleagues. If nothing else y'all may get a good laugh out of the impending event. Hopefully nothing quite as frustrating as the link sent to ProFox the other day (http://youtube.com/watch?v=KyLqUf4cdwc). Ciao!
