It appears that the problem is that they switched me to their "upgraded
service" Sat night.  That killed my DSL 'cause the line won't take it --
too far from the switch.


They've been billing me for the 6Mbps "service" since January but just
got around to physically switching the other night.  That's when my high
speed went down.

SCOUR YOUR AT&T BILLS.  Make sure they aren't billing you for something
you're not getting.  Then don't let them screw up your service the way
they've screwed up mine.  Make them test the line or make sure that it
will carry the higher speed before letting them "upgrade" you.
