If all you want to do is mount a single virutal drive then there may be
cheaper options, I use Alcohol 120% from www.alcohol-soft.com $39, I
highly recommend it. Loads pretty much all formats, including their own.
You can mount up to 31 virutal drives at one time, although I've never had
the need for quite that many.

I use it on my kids computer to use virtual copies of their game and
educational disks - so I can keep the masters safely tucked away and
undamamged. My 4-year old son LOVES to handle disks, and once put a Scooby
Doo DVD into mommys automatic stapler - now he knows not to do THAT again!

Any suggestions on a utility to mount an ISO CD image file as a virtual
CD/DVD drive vs. burning throw-away CD/DVD's everytime I need to install
from a downloaded ISO file?

There appear to be a lot of options for Linux - I'm looking for a Windows
2000/XP solution.

I've been googling and found:

1. Daemon Tools (with warning to avoid)
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5

2. A free, unsupported MS utility
<http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/b/6/7b6abd84-7841-4978-96f5-bd58df
02efa2/winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe>

3. ISO Buster ($30)

Any one have any suggestions on what to use or avoid - or should I just burn
a damn CD and be done with it ;)

Malcolm
