Greetings! Thanks for the Heads Up. On my MSDN DVD all I have is Vista Ultimate. But, it is incomplete! The DVD, despite having room for all 5 iso files, only has the first 4 iso files. I had to download the 5th one. Perhaps MS/MSDN will correct that at some point. We will see, eh? Your note re: only Vista Ultimate or Business Pro under VPC2007 is a good point, as I am certain many of my clients will end up getting a lesser version of Vista with their newer PCs. I will only be able to test under Ultimate, unless I want to license a lesser version (not a chance!). All ought to be fine (after I recompile in VFP 9 <g>), but I am going to recommend the Business Pro or Ultimate version on machines with 2Gb RAM or more as a Vista baseline for my apps (after I make certain they run properly). An associate of mine went to a M$ Vista rollout seminar last week. For ALL issues re: compatibility with Vista the M$ reps suggested using VPC2007 with XP as the guest OS. The "Great Escape Hatch" I guess. Never mind this requires a very beefy PC (3-4Gb RAM perhaps, I bumped one of my PCs to 4Gb to handle Vista in VPC2007), and a 2nd Windows license to run the Guest O/S under VPC2007, just to allow an otherwise perfectly good app to run "under Vista" (then under 2000 Pro or XP as Guest OS with VPC 2007). Kind of doubles M$ revenues a bit, yes? I say that considering the oem XP OS packaged with a particular PC is not supposed to (often, can't) be migrated to any other PC platform. And, what happens when XP is no longer available from M$? Amazing that they can get away with this crap, while jamming a draconian OS down the throat of consumers where barriers to practical use is confused with "high security". If I could move to Linux in my market, I would, then defiantly run VFP exe files under WINE. Oh well... I guess it is easy to be brave when a courageous option is not practical. Ciao!
