Mike's right. It was IBM's entry into the market that made PCs a
"safe" purchase for businesses. ("Nobody was ever fired for buying
Blue.") And it was IBM's antitrust concerns that led them into their
non-exclusive deal with Microsoft for an operating system, which led
to both clones and Bill Gates' billions.
