My girlfriends family are unable to perform the
simplest household repairs.  Unable to install VCRs,
stereos, computers, etc.  They start to sweat if they
need to replace a frayed plug of an iron, or fix a
broken window.  

However, they're all successful attorneys, business
people, and teachers, so obviously they're not dumb. 
It's the oddest thing I've ever seen.
