Derek:
I have used the mci32.ocx to place this type of controls on a form. You can 
show only the buttons you wish. The control 
was available in VFP6 and I am sure it continued. It is called: Microsoft 
Multimedia Control, Version 6
Choices:
Play, Pause, Stop, FFW, RWD, Next, Previous, Record. Then you can set what you 
want the control to do in their 
associated method.
This control works very well and I use it in conjunction with Windows Media 
Player OCX to play MP3 audio and various 
video in VFP forms.
