Interesting article on HomePlug AV and the newest wireless standard 802.11n at above link. Here's an excerpt: Along with Linksys, companies like MainNet Communications, GigaFast, devolo AG, and Intellon Corporation will be showing off HomePlug AV products at CeBIT. devolo will unveil its new dLan NAS device with built-in HomePlug AV support while Intellon will demonstrate products capable of streaming multiple high-definition video streams over home electrical wiring. HomePlug AV improves on its predecessor's performance by offering 100Mb Ethernet speeds over home electrical wiring. It operates in the 2-28MHz frequency range and the HPPA claims that it is capable of speeds of up to 200Mbps over "noisy power line channels." Along with out-of-the-box plug-and-play capability, it offers 128-bit AES security and advanced QoS functions designed with IP and AV traffic in mind. It also interfaces seamlessly with broadband over power lines. Hmmm, I can't wait to see the routers on the shelf. _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
