        That's one of the main reasons for the prevalence of malware - the  
defenses stay the same, but the attackers keep changing.

        Sure, it's cheaper. And a hell of a lot more limited, since you're  
completely missing out on what is the main point, which is that  
companies are learning that you really don't need Windows for  
anything anymore. You brought up specialized software that is Windows- 
only, and I gave two simple solutions. In companies that need such  
software, though, most employees don't need to run it.

        The problem is that you are looking solely at cost, and not at  
value. Either that, or you value Macs at zero. That's fine - nobody's  
trying to force you to change. The article wasn't about you or people  
like you. It's about a general trend that did not exist a few years  
ago. There's no need to get all defensive when someone suggests that  
other people may be looking at things differently than you do.
