Vince: I don't know about fun... Back in the day when I took Fortran IV (1972 @ NC State) on an IBM 360 we punched cards and handed them to a student operator. Days later (I mean days - 1 on a fast return time and more likely 2 or 3 <g>) you got your printout back only to find that the operator had dropped the deck and reassembled the cards in some random order. Not Fun! I learned to number the cards and have the key punch machine make a duplicate deck so I had a *backup* as there were times that no cards were returned with the print...It was easier than going back to the coding forms and starting over. When I tell my kids these stories they interject 'that's when dinosaurs roamed the planet, blah, blah, blah'. I think I managed a good grade but I can't recall it... Regards,
