GWB did NOT fire all the US Attys. Over 1/3rd tendered their resignations when the Republicans took over the presidency. But then the bush crime family took the opportunity of a clause inserted by arlen spector's aid into the reauthorization of the (blech!! misnamed) patriot act that allowed the AG to fire and reappoint without Senate confirmation to fire 8 U.S. Attorney's who were too busy enforcing the law to perform their POLITICAL DUTIES as karl rove and other republican functionaries define them. As for 8 hours in the hot seat -- at least Fitzgerald was trying to get to the bottom of a CRIMINAL ACT perpetrated by the denizens of the W.H. Fitzy knew there was no crime, or else he knew who released the info, and it was a liberal Democrat, not anyone in the White House. He should have gone after Armitage, but since he was a lib, he didn't. It was Richard Armitage that "blew Valerie Plame's cover". She wasn't even an under cover agent. Fitzgerald was trying to bring the president and/or the Republicans down, plain and simple. Clinton, on the other hand, voluntarily and under oath answered interminable questions from the repuke's about a blow job. "Voluntarily" Yeah right. If Monica hadn't hung onto the soiled dress, Slick would have probably had her join Vince Foster for dinner. If the Senate had done what they should, they would have voted to remove Clinton. He should have been exiled to France or maybe China (the Chinese gave him more money than any other country).
