1. The Electric motor in general is nearly 90% efficient. The gasoline engine is 30%
2. The Tesla uses no gasoline, just electric and batteries. When you charge batteries, they don't get heavier. When you fill up a car, it gets heavier. 3. Battery technology has gotten much better lately. 4. The Tesla is using "secret" technology that they're either trying to patent or have patented.
