I've been using the free home addition on 2 computers. The virus updates are set to be done automatically. Once a day, it checks for updates and if there are any, it downloades them and installs them.
It has caught about 10 files since early December 2006. You sure know that it detected a virus. A screen pops up and warns you about a file that has a known virus. I periodically run a full scan and since the virii have already been caught, I get a clean scan. It is very unobtrusive. It just runs in the background. Simple and elegant. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf > Of Kenneth Kixmoeller/fh > Sent: Thursday, March 29, 2007 11:43 AM > To: Profox > Subject: [NF] Experience with Avast A/V? > > Is it effective without turning your machine into a doorstop (like > some well-known A/V programs)? > > Anyone?
