Most LCD warranties don't cover dead pixels, which is the most likely problem you are to experience. Personally, I have yet to experience any dead pixels or failures of any kind with my LCDs. I've also never had a CRT that I personally purchased go bad(though relatives and business aquantances have occassionally). > Actually, in the soon-to-be-renovated Server Room I am looking at putting in > a small conference table (seating 6 or 8) with a drop-down screen at one end Sounds very nice if you have clients visiting. > certainly have room for an array of quasi-multiple monitors, but that would > be a waste. 2 screens are easy. Beyond that you start getting into video driver problems(having multiple manufacturers in the same system doesn't always work well). One option, is if you have multiple computers, you can run Synergy to have one keyboard/mouse and control them all-- this is incredibly cool(I have it at work where I have 2 machines), and I can see it having considerable productivity benefits if you regularly use multiple computers. I got the idea after Whil posted Stefan Didak's desk: http://www.stefandidak.com/office/index.php > All of my Servers are single display units, only my production > and development PCs are dual display. I only have 1 display on my server, and would just as easily take that away if I needed it somewhere else... Servers are a closet thing to me... > Seems to be plenty enough, but over > the past day or so I am starting to itch to see if a quad display would be > of use.... Diminishing returns, but still some returns. I'm utilizing it-- I can play World of Warcraft on my main screen, Email on one screen, browser on one screen, IM on another screen, process explorer on one of the screens, etc... I have yet to use it for development(it's been 2 days and I didn't feel like working at home this weekend), but I expect it to be very useful when I do. -- Derek _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
