=> Hello,
=> I need to seek the reverse of a character field.
=> I have an account number and the client wants to search by
=> the last X characters.
=>
=> The account number is a character field 20 spaces.
=>
=> Example: acct #: 12345678
=> User enters 678 and finds all accounts that end in 678
=>
=> Anyone have a good solution ?
=>
=> Thanks,
=> Kent

Build multiple indices. The overhead will be quickly recouped the first time
you try to locate a partial field that is embedded. If this is something that
is going to change "whimsically," then rebuild the index every time you need
to. Once the table is indexed the first time, subsequent index ops (on the
same workstation) should be almost instantaneous.
