When my users are paying 10$/Minute to download data via satcom at
64Kbps I think they would be a little upset.
We had a big pain barrier from 5 to 7 which caused problems, so we would
only go up to 9 when absolutely necessary.

I understand your POV; however, how hard is it to package the runtimes 
in with the updated executable in a self-extracting zip file 
executable?  There are no files to register...just put the runtimes in 
the folder and off you go!  Sure, there's the stuff you gotta consider 
like SET ENGINEBEHAVIOR 70 in the beginning of your main.prg but then 
you're golden!!!!
