Probably uncharted for a good reason.   We sold my mother's house in San
Diego not long ago - a SMALL 2BR1BA in a decent area; they paid $12,800 for
it in 1960, we sold it for $435k.

Less than 6 months later it was in foreclosure.  They couldn't afford the
payments.   Last I heard it is still empty.  I'd buy it back in a heartbeat,
but I can't afford it either.  

FWIW I lived in Phoenix in the mid 80's and liked it and would move back
there in a heartbeat.  I haven't looked in a while I am sure the housing
market has skyrocketed there as well.  I can only imagine what my $400 a
month appartment (in 1985) goes for now...
