I think a better answer would be to compare the mindset of the hurricane 
katrina victims in that they believe "the government would protect me" 
or "nothing will happen because I believe it won't"

Now history has taught us that not only can the government not protect 
you, but that the government will come in and slam little ole lady's up 
against the wall and take away their gun that they were using to protect 
themselves

Back to your story, yep, I'm definitely concerned when an country that 
has pubicly stated that it wants to exterminate any non muslim believers 
has nuclear power or weapons at its disposal.
