Check out http://www.farecompare.com/

It lets you see the prices on a calendar to see leaving/returning a
day earlier or later will save/cost you and checks all the airlines at
once(unlike many of the sites that just check some). It also checks
nearby airports(such as Buffalo for Rochester). Looks like you could
do $199-219 round trip(total cost, they say) from Rochester to Atlanta
for the conference...
