Current predictions arent worth squat without some solid data to compare it with. We don't know how long the plantes have been around, nor can we predict when something catastrophic would happen.
A fire gets the hottest before it burns itself out. How do we know the sun won't burn itself out next year ? We don't .! How do we know that some large planet won't collide with the sun ? We don't.
