Have'nt tested, but it seems to me that replacing the REPLACE with an 
update isn't correct - don't you need a WHERE clause to ensure only one 
record is being updated?  It looks like you're updating them ALL. 

Otherwise, in the IF statement for error checking, why not 
messagebox(Message()) to see what the problem is?
