I don't have the time to work out the specifics of your problem, however, in general, valid isn't really an event and it belongs to the group of legacy functions that Fox has to support. As such, it can cause problems when it's used with newer event code. I no longer use control.valid at all. Instead, try doing the validation in the lostfocus; that should work ok with everything else. -Lew
