I think this is not a VARTYPE() problem because I can see the variable in the debugger in "Watch" window but I can't assign a new value on it or .null. since I get a message that says this is an object. It seems that the container becomes a ghost. I can set visible = .f. as a workaround but it could be better and cleaner to kill the object for ever. Do I have to report it as a bug?
