There is a simple way to change ( read: turn off ) some of the Vista security defaults that make the OS such a hassle. Type in 'secpol.msc' in the Run box and you'll be taken to where you can adjust all sorts of things related to the User Account control, the passwords, and so on. Very handy in making Vista a less irritating platform to work with. Hope it helps :)

The API don’t seem to work. Not actually a VFP problem but is a problem for me. The csmail component fails to register. Again not a VFP thing but certainly a reason to forget Vista for me. I now have Vista on a virtual machine for test only. I've installed VFP 8 and VFP 9 onto the box. We have another box which we've installed a VFP 6 application and a VFP 3 application. With the VFP 3 application we've needed to set the icon to run in Windows 95 mode. This gets around the 768MB problem of VFP 3.
