Hi Paul!

Several years ago my father told me this story and then he died.

There was an old man who had a habit of running out of half and half in the
wee hours of the morning and then pestering the pub owner to come down from
his upstairs apartment to refill his container. One day the pub guy had had
enough and decided to play a prank on him.

He tossed a bucket on a rope down to the man and said he had a supply
upstairs. When he lowered the man's container back down the man eagerly took
a draft. Wiping his mouth on his sleeve he asked "And are ye sure this is me
'alf 'n 'alf?" "Aye", the owner replied' "'Alf 'er's, 'alf mine".
