Hi Everybody!

China and Taiwan have been posturing in each other's direction for longer than
most people have been alive. However, there are always those who would like
to bring things to a head.

I have been scouring the gun shops for .30-06 ammunition for my 65 year old
U.S. Rifle Caliber .30, M 1 Garand for a LONG time. No one had any of that
particular round. One old shop owner offered the explanation that all the
production of .30-06 is being sent to China and/or Taiwan in preparation for
the big battle over Taiwan's Independence. The 101 year old .30-06?

Does anyone know if this is in fact happening? If so, why not something more
modern like 7.62, 5.8, or 5.56 to fit the weapons they supposedly have? Sure,
they could take .30-06 rounds apart and re-manufacture the powder and
material into rounds to fit modern military weapons, but why?

Oh, yeah. I finally found a box of .30-06 last night. Wal-mart of all places.
