We've got some 50 million people without health insurance and some 25
million getting food stamps. We don't hear about people starving to
death, but with something like $10 a day, there's probably some dog food
in that diet.

I'm not against capitalism. I work hard, invest, and expect to be fairly
rewarded for it.

What does bother me is that I look around and see the cumulative
benefits of all mankind's inventions since the very beginning, in
farming, manufacturing, technology, medicine, etc., and then I notice
that it's all controlled by our ruling class, people who find it
impossible to part with more then crumbs for people who are desperately
in need - while at the very same time can magically come up with
hundreds of billions for their pet, colossal failure, war project.

It's how we treat the losers, not the winners, that is the real measure
of our worth. If we're feeling shitty about this country and ourselves
these days, we should be.
