        Sounds like port 25 is blocked by the firewall, or the host  
specified for the SMTP object is not the right one anymore. Example:  
a lot of my Python scripts send email notices, but they are all set  
to use leafe.com as the SMTP server. If I copied them to another  
location outside of my network, they wouldn't work, since my server  
would refuse to relay mail from outside of the LAN.

        For the port blocking, open a DOS prompt, and type 'telnet <host>  
25', where <host> is the name/addr of your SMTP host. If you don't  
get a normal SMTP prompt, then you aren't reaching the host, and the  
port is most likely blocked. A message like:

Connecting To <host>...Could not open connection to the host, on port  
25: Connect failed

...is a pretty good sign that the port is blocked.
