Dang that happens to me all the time, I must really be old at 42! Of course, having dislocated an ankle it when I was in high school may have had something to do with it. Hopefully getting old have to be based on injuries as I've always been a physical disaster area, and thanks to a cheap shot on the ice two nights ago I now have a grade-1 shoulder seperation to deal with.
I have been thinking about this and for me the bottom line is I don't feel dumber. Like many on this list I've been doing Fox since the MSDos-days of 2.5. The code I am writing is much the same, what has changed is the environment. When I started with Fox I didn't have to deal with SQL Server, Active-X, Web interfaces, Webservices, Windows settings, AJAX... Everything was contained inside my apps and I had control of it all. That's not the case anymore. What we do has become more complex. I don't feel dumber, when I look back at what I've accomplished and learned along the way I feel smarter. And I like learning new things. Yes I get frustrated sometimes when struggling to make something work as I learn .NET, probably more so than I did learning to make something work in FoxPro 2.5 15 years ago because of the level of complexity. I've had to learn to deal with that frustration. Being the "jack-of-all-trades, master-of-all" as many of us used to be has become tougher, if not nearly impossible. Your mileage may vary - it usually does. But that is my $.02 Lou -----Original Message----- From: Ed Leafe [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Nah... getting old is when you land funny on your ankle just a bit, and two weeks later the thing is still throbbing. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
