Hi Ailsom, > But today, what kind of VFP applications can run on Guineu ?
The current feature set is available at: http://guineu.foxpert.com/help/supported_language_features.htm and in the CHM file that is part of the beta download. The tree on the left side links to: http://guineu.foxpert.com/help/commands.htm http://guineu.foxpert.com/help/functions.htm http://guineu.foxpert.com/help/classes.htm > CursorAdapters, Views, all visual objects (grids, comboboxes, etc) ? CursorAdapters and views are not yet available. SQL pass through is available, as well as basic DBF access. Additionally, the SQL compact engine is supported on PDAs and Windows via SPT. Data entry forms are possible, that is, textboxes, comboboxes, labels, butttons and the like are available. Grids are not yet there, listboxes are available. If you need something, let me know and I'll add it to the batch. What I simply cannot do is hire a few dozenzs programmers and finish a 100% compatible version in a few months. I don't have the resources. That's why I'm trying to do things incrementally and focus initially on less demanding systems like PDA. The only way that has a chance of suceeding is implementing the features that are most needed first. In the beginning this requires a lot of back and forth to get all features implemented that are needed. Right now you cannot take your existing application and run it unde Guineu. However, you can take your classes and write an application that runs with Guineu, if you limit your code to supported features or have the patience to wait for them to become implemented. Sometimes that's only a matter of hours... -- Christof _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
