Well, there are lots of us here who swear by (not at!) tb. I use it on a 
half dozen machines of various vintages and OSs, and they all access the 
same mailstore. A dozen accounts, two different email servers, etc.

My tb mail store is about 5 GB now. :)

I found that for about six months I kept Outlook available in order to 
look up old emails, but eventually stopped needing to do that, of 
course. I think you can import your Outlook address book into tb, too, 
but that was a while ago...
