You should also check to see if your system runs through the battery or it is just sidelined and kicks in when the power goes off as if it is the latter removing it wont make any difference (only charged as needed) and if it is the first sometimes you can't boot the machine without a battery (good or dead doesn't matter) although I haven't seen one like that for years now.

Different batteries: Nickel-Cadmium, Lithium-Ion and Metal Hydride, have different characteristics on what's the best way to treat them. NiCad benefit from a full discharge and recharge every once in a while. The Lithium batteries will get killed with that kind of treatment: a regular but shallow discharge keeps them in top shape. Figure out what kind of battery you have, consult your manuals and do a bit of research. -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
