NYC VFP User Group Reforming.
A New Visual FoxPro User Group is forming this summer in the NYC area.
Tentatively, the date is set for holding a VFPUG meeting in the context
of the General NYACC meeting on the 12th of July. NYACC is an acronym for
the New York Amateur Computer Club, which is the 2nd oldest computer club
in the USA.
The location will be announced soon, but here are some basic highlights
of the VFP-focused NYACC General Meeting. See http://www.nyacc.org
1. Peter Rooney and Lew Schwartz will give a presentation about using
databases, with the emphasis on Visual FoxPro .In addition, Peter and
Lew will show how to quickly build a VFP application utilizing VFP9 in an
adhoc fashion, showing the SPEED of RAD/D with VFP9.
2. William Sanders will give a presentation on 'How to be a successful
independant VFP Consultant'. He will go over the basics of how to
acquire new clients, how to handle marketing to small to medium-sized
businesses, and how to get past that 'VFP for appdev??' issue.
3. Raffle Prizes!!! Three VFP9 retail packs, 10 VFP shirts, 10 VFP
caps, 5 VFP totebags, and a new laptop!
4. The first 5 VFP developers who show up at the Meeting on the 12th
