Pete,

> Yes, abortion is something not even Hitler would do.
> Odd that he indulged in the other killings.
> Maybe Hitler is a bad example.

How so? True, the example is a bit extreme but the anti-abortion folk don't
seem to mind other kinds of killings at all. They'll let the state execute
mentally handicapped folks who have committed crimes, for example. They'll
support thrusting our military into over half the countries on the planet
because they feel so self-righteous about making sure the rest of the world
has an approved government or is giving us their oil or some such thing.

Anti-abortion folk blow up abortion clinics, shoot doctors, and are
associated with the type of ilk that strung Matthew Shepherd on a fence and
crucified him for being gay.

Add that, of course, to the fact that I don't see any evidence at all that
the folks who are so interested in protecting the unformed unborn even care
about the toddler two years later when Mom needs to work and can't afford
day care or health care on her minimum wage job.

Plan B is a good solution to prevent pregnancies when unplanned intercourse
or rape occurs. But yet the subject seems to think that being able to
prevent a rapist's baby from being conceived "in complete privacy" is some
kind of a criminal act.

Your "logic" makes no sense at all. If mothers were being cared for from
conception to birth, and the children born were being assisted with day care
and then sent to good schools to get an education, there would be a basis
for attempting to restrict a woman's right to an abortion. But they are not.

Reality is that the anti-abortion group is really only interested in making
sure a woman that gets pregnant when she's "not _supposed_ to" is "punished"
by carrying the pregnancy to term. Why? So everyone can see and point at her
for being immoral and she can be further "punished" for what she did. They
don't care one whit about that mother or that baby. They care about
punishing the immoral mother. Again, that's why people are so outraged that
Plan B could be purchased over the counter to provide emergency pregnancy
protection "in complete privacy". No punishment means they don't get to
point at her and call her names and watch her suffer.

The way to prevent abortion is to get rid of the REASONS people have
abortion. They have abortions because they can't afford day care, because
they aren't ready to be a mother, because they are afraid of the shame of
being pregnant and unmarried. These are all things that can be addressed.
Take that stuff away and the number of abortions goes down to a trickle. All
that's left is the extremely small percentage of women who don't care and
are unreachable anyway.

Want to save babies? Treat their mothers with kindness and respect, give
them the help they need to support their families and you'll see the number
plummet to almost nothing.

Get real. Oh yeah, I forgot who I was talking to. A guy that doesn't want a
pregnancy prevented "in complete privacy" but instead wants that slut
humiliated in public.
