Actually, I am a "Base 62" person, where for some Primary Key issuance purposes I use A-Z, a-z and 0-9 in a 10 character wide field to get a lot of head room. Why? Because I could <g>... Over the years I reverted to numeric PK fields, but it was always fun to watch a person's face when I tried to explain a Base 62 system to them <g>... I learned that technique from Menachem Bazian, of Flash Management fame.
