Add a property to your form called "hasGrid", and default it to .F.
Then add the lines:
TRY
Thisform.hasGrid = .T.
CATCH
* No such prop; ignore
ENDTRY
to the Init() of your grid class. Then your form only needs to check
if This.hasGrid is .T.
