I have been spending a little more time with Python than Dabo, although I am constantly looking at the Dabo code to see how things are done. I have several books on python and they are all good. I am focusing on packaging and running an application on Windows before getting into the details of an application. I am also working on an application that doesn't use an interface, but pulls xml files from a URL, parses them and puts them in a table. The folks on dabo-users are very helpful, and I have found the following list is a good one for asking basic questions. I also find reading others' questions and the answers to them very helpful. http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/tutor Just so you don't think I've flown the coup, all of my applications are VFP7 or VFP9 + VMP. I do a lot of ftp, email, http, serial communications and XML parsing to name a few; using VFP libraries. My first order of business with Python is to replace all of those libraries with Python.
